NYC 2009 and some of the comments from the students: "Love that city..." "Do we have to go home now..." "I never knew that I could learn so much about one place in just a few days! I loved it..." Just a few comments from some of the students who traveled and spent 5 days in New York City this past April.
We visited many of the famous sites, for those who have never been before. We visited places that many tourists don't know about or never make it to. We ate in Chinatown, Katz' Deli, Little Italy, Broadway Joes and more. We got to spend some time with some former WLW Musical Theater / Choir students: Lindsay Janisse, Ryan Steele, Jessica Elwart.
And now, enjoy some pictures!

For you to know: For you to know: For you to know: For you to know: - Please arrive 10-15minutes early to learn the process from the previous shift and to help restock. Everyone “donates” this time by arriving early and allowing for a smooth transition between shifts.
- Sign in on the clipboard when arriving and leaving.
- The choir is responsible for providing workers to “guard” the two doors to the auditorium during the operating hours of concessions. Door monitors are to remind people that only water is allowed in the auditorium; food, ice cream and pop are NOT ALLOWED. At least ONE Shift Leader (parent) is to remain at the concessions stand, and during a shift the door jobs are rotated among the other students/parent workers. The parent(s) will monitor the rotation of who works concessions and who watches the doors. Students will be working the doors more than selling concessions. The parent(s) are in charge and have final say about the rotation of work and jobs to be done.
- There will be snack items to be restocked and drinks to be iced. REMEMBER do NOT open boxes/containers until needed AND ONLY if there is enough time to sell the items (this is more for Sunday's workers). If a box is unopened, we can return it.
- ANY TIPS received go into the drawer as concession earnings.
- IMPORTANT: Bring your own snacks or money if you want a drink or snack. This weekend there are no “freebies” for parents and/or students. We want to earn as much as possible. “Free” food literally “eats” into the profits. Some of you are working long shifts, so think ahead and come prepared. You can opt to go together among the workers of a shift and buy your own pizza at cost. Just an suggestion.
- Be VERY polite, courteous, professional, and helpful. We want the dancers and their parents to return and buy more!
- We will leave notes as to where food is located so it can be restocked.
- How do we determine the amount you earn? We add up all the hours worked for the competition and divide the net profits by the number of hours worked. Then, the hourly “wage” is multiplied by the number of hours worked by you and/or a parent. You will receive cash earned from this fundraiser to help with your NYC expenses.
